Me, Myself and I
I worked as a documentary film director for three years in an advertising agency in Ethiopia. Then I established my own advertising agency called “Abugida-Pro Advertising.” All in all, I have researched, written and directed 12 documentary films and more than three hundred television commercials. Together with a German film director, I co-directed the documentary “100 years Ethio-German diplomatic relation”, produced for the German embassy .

I came to Germany in 2007 for a three month “prakttikum” at Deutsche Welle. I immediately joined the 18-month “Volontariate” training in DW-Akademie. Then, I started to work as a freelancer in DW-Radio Amharic service. I heard about the IMS Master program and, since there is no real press freedom in my country, I told to myself: Manti, you have to join this study! I am now studying and working at DW.
