Youth detention
The Düsseldorf detention center for young adults holds about 2200 young men each year for up to four weeks. Eira Martens has talked to one of the inmates about how it feels to be imprisoned and how it changes your life.
Youth and Politics
According to the 2010 Shell youth study, a large number of young people in Germany are not interested in politics. The Friedrich Ebert Foundation wants to change that. Veve Hitipeuw Johns reports on how they use political simulation games to show them that: “Politics is fun!”

They spend every Thursday out on the field learning to become heroes. The Youth Fire Brigade Bonn-Röttgen attracts boys and girls who want to become real firefighters. Anne N’Dungu reports about what it means to be part of these units.
